StrandjaNatureParTheSustainableTourismProjectTOkNOWMOREStrandjaNatureParBurgasRegionalAdministraonSocialandEnvironmentalResponsibilityCentreSERCContactTheDirectorateoftheparkisacvelyworkingforthesustainabledevelopmentoftheareaimplemennganumberofprojectsthatalsoaddressthesustainabledevelopmentoflocaltourism.Forthelast15yearsmanypeopleintheareahavebegunlookingforalternavesourcesofincomeandcurrentlytherearemorethan100establishmentsthatoeraccommodaonfoodandsightseeinginthearea.Thereareguesthousesinthevillagesaswellassmallhotels.Takingintoaccountthattheseunitsareinanaturalparktheymustbeevenmoreresponsibletotheenvironment.Byusingalternavesourcesofenergytheyareabletoreducetheirimpactonnature.Inthelasttwoyearsaregionaltrademarkwasdevelopedandlaunched.Thetrademarkrecognizesaccommodaonprovidersandothertourismserviceproviderswhofulllthecriteriaofresponsibletourism.TheUnitedNaonsEnvironmentalProgramUNEPisinpartnershipwiththeBulgarianSocialandEnvironmentalResponsibilityCenterSERCintheimplementaonoftheHotelEnergySoluonspilotphaseacvies.ItisancipatedthattheHESpilotdesnaonwillbuildontheexisngsustainabletourisminiaveswithinBulgaria.SERCandtheBulgariangovernmenthavedemonstratedtheircommitmenttosustainabletourismthroughtheirpartnershipwiththeUnitedNaonsIndustrialDevelopmentProgramUNIDOontheResourceEcientandCleanerProduconRECPprojectinBulgaria.AsadirectresultofSERCsacvies20BulgarianexpertshavebeentrainedoncleanerproduconCPandanother20incorporatesocialresponsibilityCSR.CPandCSRacvieshavebeenimplementedin25hotelsandvetourism-relatedenterprisesfromthesupplychaininthreeBulgarianlocaonsandstakeholdershavebeenengagedinthepromoonofsustainabledesnaonmanagementorganizaons.www.strandja.bgwww.bsregion.orgwww.serc.bgMarianaAssenovaChairoftheSteeringCommieeE-mailoceserc.bg9
